full moon in aquarius: the bigger picture

Are you the star or the most valuable teammate?  That’s what the Aquarius Full Moon asks us to consider today. Sometimes it’s about giving up our small self of the Ego, and stepping into the larger Self…the part of us that is one with ALL of humanity.

First, this morning, the regal Leo Sun will square Uranus (change-maker planet) in Taurus.  The Sun’s square to Uranus in Taurus tells us that something shocking or unexpected will knock us sideways - there’s a surprise revelation in the works, so stay fluid and receptive to changes.

However,  yesterday’s Moon conjunct Pluto provided a glimpse into those inevitable truths - Pluto (which rules probing Scorpio) often forces us to face the raw truths that we’ve been trying to ignore.

Tonight at 9.36pm ET, the last Supermoon of the year occurs  with the Full Moon in Aquarius, at 19 degrees 21 minutes.  major Fixed energy abounds, and although Fixed signs tend to prefer with trusted methods (don’t say ‘stubborn’!), this  lunation encourages us let some of our old attitudes go.  To do that, you first need to be aware of what they are.

the Aquarius Full Moon brings attention to our personal idiosyncrasies and our unique take on the world.  Aquarius, like Leo, is a fixed sign, and is similarly endowed with a strong sense of confidence and decisiveness. While the two signs may be working with similar themes in this incarnation, they tend to approach things quite differently.

Aquarius focuses on egalitarianism, friendship, and collaboration, while expressing themselves in an innovative, even eccentric way.  Aquarius wants to be the best teammate, inspiring the collective. Meanwhile, Leo, although equally creative, distinguishes itself as the star.  This Full Moon calls us to think about how we mediate between the two extremes - equal to our brethren, or standing above/apart from them.  

The square to the Moon’s nodes suggests that addressing where we stand in regard to humanity can help us lead a more fulfilled life, embracing our dharma and unique path in this incarnation.
