Uranus stations and goes retrograde today until January 22nd, 2023.

Uranus, the so-called Great Awakener, is the pesky little planet that spins sideways as it transits the heavens.  It’s  also the modern-day ruler of Aquarius, the sign of non-conformity and rebellion (fittingly!).

During this shift, we might feel more alienated from the group, and our desire to shock others gets heightened.  We might feel defiant and do the opposite of what we know others expect.  It feels good to know we’ve flaunting convention, if for no other reason than to see the shocked look on people’s faces.  But is there any substance behind it?

Once Uranus settles into Rx mode, however, that sense of restlessness will be more subdued.  The need to make changes is less about rattling others, and more about looking within, and better understanding why we feel the need to rebel in the first place.  

Do we feel we won’t be heeded and appreciated unless we act out?  Have we lost our ability to be listened to without needing to provoke others?

the Uranus Rx transit also gives us the opportunity to explore how we might need to change our internal attitudes or thought processes.  Have we gotten into habits and routines that aren’t serving our long-term trajectory?
