“By samyama on the relationship between the body & ether, lightness is attained…thus traveling through the ether becomes possible.” YS 3.43

in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, ancient yogic text from early centuries A. D. , we learn that through intense concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana) and union (samadhi), we can achieve samyama…an intense form of meditation that allows us to transcend time and space.
