wednesday brought us the New Moon in Pisces- and its energy will deliver a lot more sensitivity to us all week. Write down your dreams & fantasies, allow the boundaries between what ‘could be’ and ‘what is’ to soften a bit, because a Pisces New Moon is about transcending the rational mind and opening yourself to life’s potential.
we might be more intuitive & creative, but we’re also more likely to cry or lash out if we feel wronged or if someone seems to reject our gentle hearts. But don’t hold on to the hurt. The best way to utilize this Pisces re-boot energy is to 1) write down just 3 things you are grateful for today, and 2) do a simple act of compassion or mercy for someone else. Say a prayer or make a donation.
Connect with nature by a natural body of water, sit in silent meditation, listen to some music, give thanks.
the Pisces New Moon occurs in the context of some interesting aspects: the Sun (in Pisces) will sextile Uranus (in Taurus)- indicating some surprising gestures of compassion- we are more open & we want to share our hearts with one another. (I’m thinking here about the gestures of goodwill being directed toward Ukraine in light of Russia’s invasion).
The Pisces New Moon occurs in the context of some transits that could add solidity to our dreamy Pisces musings: for example, a Mercury - Saturn conjunction in Aquarius (Saturn is structure / laws/ establishment & Mercury is communication). Interestingly, Ukrainian President Zelensky is an Aquarius- and the world is certainly hearing his words powerfully now. The Saturn influence suggests that mankind may be willing to step up firmly to address any injustice as a united humanitarian front.
Meanwhile the preponderance of Capricorn energy, fueled by Mars, Venus, & Pluto add a steady, committed backdrop to any love life moves we’re contemplating. In light of pandemics and wars, we’re collectively battle-hardened, so the emphasis is on time-tested lovers & friends who will be there thru thick and thin. Although humanity is struggling, the Capricorn energy tells us: don’t give up, keep climbing, like the goat. for me, I see this with recently broken couples like Shailene Woodley-Aaron Rodgers and Lisa Bonet -Jason Momoa reuniting after announcing separations.
The Capricorn Mars, Venus & Pluto will also be activating the Lunar Nodes - now in Taurus (north node) & Scorpio (south node). The north node (now in Taurus) is asking us to move toward stability, comfort, whereas the south node in Scorpio indicates a rejection of power plays and manipulation.
In the Christian faith, tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, a kind of spiritual preparation for the symbolic rebirth of Easter. When the priest puts the ash on your forehead, he says “remember that from ashes you have come, and to ashes you will return.” But we can see this message as beautiful, not depressing: we are all made from the same beautiful sacred ash, we are one soul, one spirit. Any separation between us is mere illusion. It’s only when we identify with our form, our ego, that we experience fear and attachment.
