lion’s gate portal: step into your power

today we have the peak of the Lion’s Gate portal, the alignment between the Sun and Sirius (“Alpha Canis Majoris”) or the Dog Star.  

the Lion’s Gate influence is said to be open from July 28th to August 12th, but its peak influence occurs today, August 8th. Sirius bring the influence of abundance and drive, almost like a dream mix of Jupiter + Mars.  

the Ancient Egyptians associated Sirius with their agricultural goddess Sopped, and  looked to the Lion’s Gate alignment as a celestial indicator of their material sustenance + wealth for the year. The numerology of “8” is also associated with bounty…and when turned on its side, of course we know that the number 8 reminds us of infinity…something we’re all part of.

elsewhere in the galaxy, today marks the exact moment of Venus in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn.  We may be pushing for depth and more understanding of the inner workings of relationships…trying to understand others’ motivation and beliefs, ascertaining where their belief systems and values harmonize with ours — or not! (Venus rules love and worth). 

be sure to honor yourself while also tapping into the Pluto energy of digging into the back-story.  It’s important to love, but also to wisely discern who is worthy of our love & esteem.  It’s not a judgment thing; it’s a matter of letting people live out their karma, as we live out ours.  We cannot force others to love us by giving to them endlessly (a particular flaw of Cancer); we must stand in our power.  Pluto provides assistance with this.

at 4.01pm ET, the Sun in Leo forms a trine to Chiron in Aries - helping us to heal our hearts and move forward without bitterness or regret.  If there is some issue or pain in your life that still hasn’t been resolved, this is a good moment to offer it up for resolution - maybe at the start of your yoga asana class or meditation session.

offer it up, send love & healing to yourself and all others involved…and then let it go.  You don’t need it anymore.
